Wild Alaska 2010

Aufeis in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
In summer 2010 I went to Alaska with Joe Johnson for 6 weeks.  We traveled in three regions:
(1) Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in the far north,
(2) Denali National Park in the heart of Alaska,
(3) Kenai Peninsula in south central Alaska.

The most intense part of the trip was an 11 day self-guided kayak expedition in the Arctic Refuge.  By comparison, Denali was a little more pedestrian...we had flush toilets at Wonder Lake campground!  The Kenai peninsula was a mix of hotels, tent-camping, and yurts and cabins.

Check out the links above to see a show of my pictures and read more about each part of the trip.
